Hi Nigel and the team,
First of all, congrats on moving over to the "Autodesk Application Plug-in Package Format Specification" and the Qt framework!
The usage of PackageContents.xml is especially exciting, as we've been packaging SiNi products into Rez packages for a while now, which has been quite a process...
We've noticed that the the app package is still not fully self-contained and some items end up in C:\Program Files\Autodesk and C:\Program Files\SiNi Software directories, e.g.:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2023\SiNiVRay6.dll
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2023\maps\SiNi_Arrow_Grid.bmp
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2023\Plugins\SiNi_Software\DistMaps\Fractal_01.bmp
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2023\UI_ln\Icons\Dark\SiNiSoftware\SiNiSoftware0_24.png
C:\Program Files\SiNi Software\PlayBlast.exe
etc...
Are there any plans to move those files to ApplicationPlugins and/or use Environment Variables to locate things? Would be a real game-changer if this was possible!
Many thanks,
Andrej
